Earl T. Swift Obituary
Earl T. Swift, 87, of Colts Neck, passed away peacefully early Wednesday evening.
Earl was born in Elizabeth, NJ and was raised in Keansburg and Union Beach. He was a graduate of Keyport High School. Earl began his career as a business owner by starting a construction company, Galaxy Homes, which built custom homes throughout Monmouth County. Earl continued to follow his entrepreneurial instincts by acquiring commercial properties that he renovated and developed into successful business centers.
Earl married his wife, Ann, in 1956 and the two would spend 65 wonderful years together. They began their life together in Union Beach, and eventually moved their family to Holmdel in 1978. He was a life-long member of Union Beach Fire Company. If you knew Earl you knew he was always busy working, but he would make time for hunting, cruises with his wife, and trips to Florida. Earl also spent a large part of his time in Idaho where he owned and developed a large industrial park. He loved the mountain west area and considered Idaho a second home.
Earl is predeceased by his loving wife Ann Swift; his brother Gary Collichio and his infant son, Earl Peter Swift.
Earl is survived by his children and their spouses, Thomas (Dianne) Swift of Keyport. Barbara (Dave) Wischerath of Holmdel, Mark (Clare) Swift of Holmdel, and Cynthia (Peter) Valesi of Howell; his siblings Louanne Comerford, Richard Swift, Celia Rosser, and Donna Rawls; and his beloved grandchildren: Katelyn Swift, Matt Swift, Jeff Wischerath, Kaci Swift, Brian Wischerath, Ava Valesi and Derek Valesi.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 12th from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ 07733. A graveside service will be offered Monday, March 13th at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Keyport.
