He was predeceased by: his father Herbert Remer; his brother Jeffrey Remer; and his stepbrother Jeffrey Weir. He is survived by: his mother Mae A. Remer of Clifton; his brothers, Mark Remer of Florida and Kenneth Remer of North Carolina; his stepbrother Richard Weir of Clifton; and his niece Caitlyn Weir.
