He was predeceased by: his parents, John Behan and Helen Behan; and his brother Robert M. Behan. He is survived by: his sons, Dean P. Behan (Christina) of Pompton Lakes and Scott T. Behan (Renee Zollo) of Clifton; his brother John F. Behan (Joyce) of Manahawkin; his grandsons, Thomas T. Behan and Caden T. Behan; and his former wife Joan Marie Behan of Clifton.
