Nellie (Stols) Babcock Obituary

Nellie Babcock passed away on February 24, 2018. She was a remarkable 106 years old. She was born in Paterson, New Jersey, and she lived in Clifton, NJ for most of her life before moving to North Brunswick, NJ a few years ago.
Nellie had worked for the Silk Mills Factory in Paterson prior to raising her sons. Her passion for people and zest for life were infectious. She enjoyed making people laugh with her captivating stories and left a long lasting impression on every person she met. She was known for her fear of driving despite living alone since her youngest son was married, so she walked everywhere she went for over 50 years.
She was predeceased by her husband James L. Babcock, Sr. (d. 1966); her sons, Robert J. Babcock (d. 1985) and James L. Babcock, Jr. (d. 1992); her brothers, Abe, Jake, and Bill Stols; and her sisters, Jean, Clara, Margaret and Beatrice. She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Lucille Babcock of North Brunswick NJ and Ann Babcock of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Glenn, Nancy, Michael and Kristen; her great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Kenneth and Serena; and her great-great granddaughters, Evalyn and Regan.
