“I knew Kathy very well since her sister Jane Colca & I became friends in the 70’s. Jane & I became “partners in crime” and I quickly became family to the Colca’s. I loved her parents & Kathy like my own. Kathy was a wonderful woman, strong, smart and funny. She was also a great nurse at Mountainside Hospital & was an inspiration in my own nursing career. I’ll never forget when she lost her eye sight, and decided to further her education by getting her BSN...and I watched her do so...in Braille!!!! Talk about determination & perseverance! I loved Kathy, and always will. I hated to see how isolated she became because of her awful illnesses Her parents & sister Jane were a tremendous strength for her, and I know she is joyful in Heaven reunited with her parents, Kitty & Joe Colca, again. I am so happy that she is free of her pain & suffering, and surrounded by all the love she so deserves!! Forever your friend, Donna Puleo xoxo”
