He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Collins and Ellen Collins; his mother-in-law Maria Vangieri; and his siblings, Patrick Collins, Mary Joan Foley, Michael Collins, Lois Osnato and William Collins.
He is survived by: his wife Franca Collins; his son Gerald Collins (Erica Zimmerman) of Clifton; his grandchildren, Georgia and Jaxon Collins; and his sister Janet Collins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
