It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Irene (Schweighardt) Bakelaar of Clifton, New Jersey, born in Passaic, New Jersey, who passed away on March 5, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Donald R. Bakelaar; her son Donald R. Bakelaar Jr.; and her siblings, John Schweighardt and Elizabeth Cady. She is survived by: her children, Patrick M. Bakelaar (Bridget) of Lincoln Park and Loren Nesbihal (Jeffrey) of Clifton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and by a great grandson.

Memorial donation to the American Heart Association will be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
