He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Florence Syrek (Marzec); his children, Cynthia A Rose (late George), Graca and Susan F Mertz (Dennis Mertz); his grandchildren, Adam G. Rose (Kate Rose), Ashley A Rose Cammarano (Nicholas Cammarano), Alexander Syrek Rose (Jaime Rose), Jaclyn A. Mertz and Stephanie N. Mertz (Alex Varley); his great grandchildren, Camila "Mila" Rose Cammarano, Bennett Nicholas Cammarano and Raia Leigh Rose; and his siblings, John Syrek, Caroline "Clara" Farrell, Julia Kriso, Matthew Syrek, Stanley Syrek, Helen Kaiser and Edmund "Monty" Syrek.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Gene via Venmo Cynthia Rose @Cindicado, for a Memorial Tree to be planted in Nutley, would be greatly appreciated.
