He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Herbert Flanagan and Dorothy Flanagan; his wife Catherine I. Flanagan; his children, Thomas Flanagan, Tim Flanagan (Sharon) and Jay Flanagan (Dawn); and his sisters, Edna Holder and Dorothy Schiffhauer.
