He is survived by: his wife Susan Thea Nichols; his children, Cheryl Holland (James) and Geoffrey Nichols (Chiya Stonehill); his grandchildren, Brooke and Gavin; his brother William L. Nichols (Ellen); and his pets, Piper and Wally.
