She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Carmody and Louise Carmody; her brothers, John J. Carmody and Joseph P. Carmody Sr.; and her sister-in-law Elizabeth A. Roberts.
She is survived by: her husband Charles E. Rittenburg; her brother Edward O. Carmody Jr. (Terri); her in-laws, Francine L. Carmody, Diane A. Carmody, Thomas J. Rittenburg (Mary Ann) and William H. Rittenburg; her children, Julie A. Rittenburg, Elizabeth M. Filip (Matt), Charles E. Rittenburg Jr. (Kari), Rebecca J. Richardson (Steve) and Maria Louisa Figueiredo Quelhas (Jose Eduardo); and her grandchildren, David, Jonathan, Luke, Margaret Filip, Andrew, Katherine Richardson, James and Ryan Rittenburg.
She was particularly proud of her contributions to active-duty service members and veterans through her yellow ribbon work sewing, filling, and sending over 1000 care packages and over 6, 000 water absorbent neck coolers to deployed service members and through quilts that she donated to wounded veterans through the Quilts of Valor organization.
