He was predeceased by: his wife Agnes; his parents, Antonetta and Michael Barbalaci; and his sister Marian Vachino. He is survived by: his friend Jandira "Sam" Belenguer; his son Robert M. Barbalaci (Angela) of Stanhope; his granddaughter Carla Barbalaci of Ledgewood; and his sister Catherine Iannuzzelli of Davenport. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Knights of Columbus.
