He was predeceased by: his father William Jennings. He is survived by: his wife Mildred Berkeley Hayes; his sons, William Bender Hayes, Jr. (Amy) of Bedford Hills, NY, Arthur Jennings Hayes (Tess) of Cornelius, NC and Brooke Berkeley Hayes (Hilary) of Rydal, PA; and his grandchildren, Elissa, Cameron, Liam, Luke, Claire, Ben, Owen and Max.

In lieu of flowers, a Memorial contribution may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York, 10306.
