He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Mellor and Clara Mellor; his brother Alfred; and his great-nephew John Hessey. He is survived by: his siblings, Charles and Claire Mellor; his nieces, Barbara Danley (John) and Janet Gallagher (James); his great-nieces, Stephanie Fink and Dawn Hessey; and his great-nephew Nathan.
