He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis W. Pettit and Angelina Talone Pettit; his wife June Zaplinty Pettit; and his siblings, Mary Pearl Hurst, Juanita DePrimio, Joan Cornish and Raymond Pettit.
He is survived by: his children, James Pierce of Cape May, Ellis Pettit of Millville, Joanne Pettit of Cedarville, Jeffery Pettit of Cedarville and Jennifer Pettit of Leesburg; his former wife Anna Pettit of Dividing Creek; and his sister Florence Fisher. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
