It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Filomena P. Simonelli in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, born in Newark, New Jersey, who passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph A. Simonelli, Sr.; her son-in-law Frank Schumell; and her siblings, Angelina DiPaolo, Anthony DiPaolo and Pauline Monticello.
She is survived by: her children, Rosanne Vivolo (Richard), Marie Simonelli (Liz Benne), Jo-Ann Schumell and Joseph A. Simonelli, Jr. (Bettye Marie); her grandchildren, Michael J. Schumell (Julia), Alana Kantor (Jonathon) and Danielle Schumell; and her great grandchildren, Henley and Jordyn Kantor. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Prout Funeral Home (370 Bloomfield Ave, Verona, NJ 07044). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church (22 Lakeside Ave, Verona, NJ 07044).
