She was predeceased by: her parents, Mario Caporelli and Elizabeth Caporelli; her husband George Batten, Sr.; and her siblings, Alfonso "Funzi", Peter Caporelli, Carmella, Dahdah and Theresa Phillips.

She is survived by: her niece Phyllis; her children, Danielle Batten (John) and George Batten, Jr. (Stephanie); and her siblings, Joseph, Anthony Caporelli, Palma Williams, Dolores Stevens and Maryann Dugan. She is also survived by her sister in laws and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Samaritan Hospice or St. Simon Stock Parish in memory of Joan.
