She is survived by: her brother John Hartsough of Tyler, TX; her son James Sheppard III of Mooresboro, NC; her grandchildren, James Sheppard IV of Tangier Island, VA., Alexia Sheppard of Tangier Island, VA. and Jacob Sheppard of Tangier Island, VA.; and her stepsiblings, Crystal Picchi, Adam Hartsough (Lisa) and Christopher Mingin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and the many friends.
