He was predeceased by: his sister Rita Martinelli; and his brothers-in-law, Giuseppe LaForgia and Evelio Pena. He is survived by: his wife Miriam Cappello; his children, Benedetto Cappello (Jennifer), Barbara D'Alia (Giovanni) and Joseph Cappello (Allison); his grandchildren, Joseph, Olivia, Ava, Sophia and Alexis; his siblings, Chiara LaForgia, Lorenzo Cappello (Fernanda), John Cappello (Karen) and Cosmo Cuocci; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Martinelli and Milagros Pena.
