He was predeceased by: his parents, James R., Sr. of Washington and Vivian (Johnson) of Washington; and his brothers, Richard B. of Washington, Louis O. of Washington, James R. II of Washington and Lawrence of Washington.
He is survived by: his daughter Kendrya Thomas (Alfred); his granddaughters, Devynn Bradford and Alayah Thomas; his great grandchild Dae; and his sister Janis -White of Washington. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was the president of the William J. Moore Scholarship Foundation, founding board member of the West Cape May African American Historical Society, a track coach and 1 on 1 aide for Lower Cape May Regional.
