He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Maureen Beebe (George), Colleen Campbell (late John), Barbara Foster (late James), Patricia Buchanan (late Shawn), Kathleen Walsh (John), Harry J. Patterson IV, John Patterson and Martin Patterson (Deborah); and his brother Jack Patterson (Joyce). He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
