George Catanese Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Catanese (Cape May, New Jersey), who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brothers, Ralph Catanese and Michael Catanese; and his granddaughter Andrea McCutcheon. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, George R. Catanese (Jean), Joseph D. Catanese (Rebecca) and Karen J. Viola (James); his grandsons, James Michael Viola (Alison), Andrew Scott Viola (Megan) and Mark Joseph Catanese (Andrea); his great grandchildren, Ella, Cora Faith, Reid, Michael, Leonardo, Oliver George, Ryleigh (Trevor) and Cameryn; his sister Betty Elkins (Daniel); and his sisters-in-law, Marie Catanese and Holly Catanese. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM at the Our Lady Star of the Sea Church (525 Washington St, Cape May, NJ 08204, USA). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
