He was predeceased by : his father Julio Ruiz; his wife Jesusa; his stepson Natividad; his grandson Carlito, Jr.; and his siblings, Cristobal, Antonia, Demencio, Tomasa, Lino, Eufemia, Domingo and Simona.

He is survived by : his children, Saturnino "Sat" (Shirley), Julio (Norma), Carlos (Lisa), Ida (Albert) and Maria; and his sister Rafaela. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
