He was predeceased by: his parents, John Billups and Peggy Billups; his sister Lillian Hicks-Robinson; his niece Darlene Hicks; and his son John Coles.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Dwight (Benneda), Gregory (Missy) and Angela (Noel); his grandchildren, Ja'Quan, Da'Juan, Harmonee and Gregory Jr.; his great grandchildren, Milani, Jaquan Jr. and Jex; and his siblings, Marva, Ethel and Harry. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
