He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gus Swain, Sr. and Louise Marie Swain; his children, LaDora Sherice, Anetra Rochelle and Maurice Lamont; his wife Loree Marcia Tribbett; his children, Gus Swain III, Charles West, Vania Swain, Syreeta Swain and Mercedes Franklin; his grandchildren, Dion Daniels, Joshua Johnson, Devonte Greene, Kiana Greene, Carl Berry, Arden Coleman, Kaira Swain and Sean Swain; his siblings, Gwendolyn Swain, Cheryl Stevens, Neicy Tribbett, Mina Tribbett, T. Tyrone Tribbett, Sr., John James and Donald Stevens; his nephew Brandon James; his godsons, Erik Tribbett and Gerald Mickens; and also To God. He was also cherished by six uncles, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He hosted soup kitchens, organized Christmas donations to shelters, and catered staff luncheons for Camden City schools.
