He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Cunningham and Sallie Cunningham (Jones); his wife Naomi Alice Brown; his daughter Glenda; his grandchildren, Celeste, Tristan and Junior; his aunt Evangelina Cunningham; and also, Newton Cunningham (Rosa Lee), Walter Cunningham (Mary Elizabeth), Ned Cunningham (Gladys), David Green Cunningham (Janie Mae) and Johnny Levi Cunningham (Maria).
He is survived by: his children, Luther Steven (Eliza), Diane Dail (Karl), Gail and Sharon; his sisters, Ruth Fulton (William), Evangelina Rogers (Frank) and Rosa Cunningham; and his brother-in-law Robert Brown (Sylvia) of Hemingway, SC. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren 38 great-grandchildren.
