He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Thomas Astin and Hannah Bridget Fogarty; his siblings, Eileen McCormick, Joseph, Robert and Thomas; and his parents-in-law, Martha Fletcher and John Fletcher.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Astin; his grandsons, Daniel and Aidan McInerney; and his sister Jean Whalen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
