It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Claire A. Bates of Caldwell, New Jersey, who passed away on March 21, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Charles Schilling and Kathleen Schilling; her spouse Thomas Bates; her children, BethAnn Bates, Rosemary Bates-Pierone and Jennifer Bates; her grandchildren, Dean Vincent, Sophie Rae and Isabel Marie; and her sisters, Elisabeth Cestone and Mary Tonks.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
