He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Ackerman; his daughter Laura Weingartner; his grandsons, Matthew and Daniel; his son R. J. Ackerman (Lisa); his grandsons, Dennis and Christopher; his sister Naomi "Tootie" Mury (John); and his friend Candy Ward.

Morrison Funeral Home will be able to accept 25 people at a time wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
