He was predeceased by: his girlfriend Elizabeth "Liz" Kemp (Lesins); his parents, Edward R. Atkinson and Sharon L. LaRosa; his stepfather Frank LaRosa; and his brother Mark J. LaRosa.

He is survived by: his sons, Edward LaRosa and Michael LaRosa; his siblings, Audrey Blank (John), Linda Caregnato, Lisa Miller, Nina Fox, Terri Cossaboon and Cory Cossaboon; and his extended family, Andrew Atkinson and Amy Ronketty (Atkinson). He is also survived by aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Any monetary donations can be made towards his two sons, Edward and Michael LaRosa.
