He was predeceased by: his daughter Gina Clarke-Lewis; and his brother Ronnie Darden. He is survived by: his aunt Elizabeth Perry; his sister Soup Kitchen; his wife Brenda Lewis; his mother Fannie Darden; his children, Brittany Lewis, Mary Lewis, Barbara Lewis Moore, Jacqueline Lewis, Marshall Lewis and William Lewis; and his siblings, Mary Elizabeth Lewis, Lonnie Darden, Maxine Van, Bernice Darden, David Darden, Mack Darden, Terry Darden and Lee Arthur Darden. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewis family's fund to honor Chef Willie Lewis, which will be the source of a scholarship fund in his name and the completion of several of his culinary projects.
