He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Marshall Schmidt and Cornelia Schmidt (Clarke); his significant other Cathy Schmidt (Carter); his children, John (Sarah), Meridith (Alex), Sarah (Scott), Reid (Corey) and Abigail (Matt); and his siblings, John and Peg. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews and the best dog.
