He was predeceased by: his daughter Nicole Velazquez; and his parents, Jose N. Velazquez and Maria Velazquez. He is survived by: his wife Maria Magdalena Velazquez; his children, Theresa Marie Mercado (Abner), Rolando Velazquez, Gabriel Velazquez (Victoria) and Richard Velazquez (Stephanie Velazquez); his siblings, Jose Velazquez and Jan-Marie Roth; and his grandchildren, Jeffery Eric Estrella, Gabrielle Joi Mercado, Lillian Velazquez, Michael Velazquez, Owen Gabriel Velazquez, Precious Mercado and Vanessa Mercado.
Due to COVID-19 Pandemic and occupancy limitations, visitors are asked to pay their respects and then immediately exit in order to allow others the opportunity to enter the building. Visitors are also required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
