He was predeceased by: his wife Bernadine; and his parents, Mary Takacs and Julius S. Takacs. He is survived by: his children, James Takacs of Bangor, Jeffrey Takacs of Bridgewater, NJ, Michelle of Somerset, NJ and Jacqueline of Oakridge, NJ; and his grandson Sebastian Mey.
