He was predeceased by: his mother Pearl Roberts Hearn; his wife Marita E. Shaw; his brother John Shaw (Jack); his stepfather Sylvester Hearn; and his grandson Ryan William Shaw.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Shaw (Melissa), Edward Shaw, Teri Altemose (Rick) and Jean Hathaway (James); his siblings, JoAnne Palmer, Beverly Gragg (Royce) and Donald Hearn; and his grandchildren, James Edward Shaw, Lauren Altemose, Stephen Altemose, James Matthew Hathaway, Peter Black, Katie Black (Surratt) and Kara Black (Hamilton). He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
