He was predeceased by: his brother Douglas J. Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Nichols (Salimbene); his children, Richard J. Nichols (Tatiane) of Summit and Cheryl A. Law of Towaco; and his grandchildren, Anthony, Giulia and James.

Donations may be made in his name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, VNA Hospice of NJ or to the American Legion in Brick.
