He is survived by: his wife Versa Whitfield; the mother of his children Carol Merritt; his children, Murray Whitfield, Jr., Pearlina Whitfield, Virginia Whitfield-Romero, Montice Whitfield, Madalyn Alexander and Tamika Moss; his stepchildren, Kimberly Redding, Demetric Redding, Deborah Redding and Diane Redding; and his brother Alexander Moss. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.
