She was predeceased by: her parents, Edith Bechtle and William Bechtle; her husband Stanley Kaplan; her daughter Elaine Mary Ruiz (Kaplan); and her sister Katherine Mead.

She is survived by: her children, Steven (Cathy Kaplan) of Whitehouse Station, NJ, William (Sonja Kaplan) of Branchburg, NJ and Susan Kaplan of South Plainfield, NJ; her siblings, Samuel (Lois Bechtle), James Bechtle of Brick, NJ and Edith Yerick of Brick, NJ; her grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Alaina, Daniel, Amanda, Lauren and Steve Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Noah, Thaddeus, Jeremiah, Elbi, Colton and Rylan.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Calvary Bible Church which will be designated for mission works.
