He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Ciempola and Lillian Ciempola; and his siblings, Joseph Ciempola, Florence Rupinksi and Melanie Gavrish.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bullivant Ciempola; his children, Edward (Christine Ciempola) of Branchburg, NJ, Paul (John Dalrymple) of Jersey City, NJ, Nicholas of Branchburg, NJ and Barbara (Ralph Russo) of Ringoes, NJ; and his grandchildren, Caroline, Katherine, Christopher, Joseph, Timothy and Ralph Thomas. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
