She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Day and Jennie Randolph Day (Roselle Park); her sons, Jeffrey Shields and Steven Shields; her siblings, Dr. Kenneth Day, James Day and Gladys Walcott; and her stepdaughter Nancy Hess.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Edward Hess; her son Kevin; and also, Ronald and Neil. She is also survived by three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
