He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph M. Cornell and Helen Mae Cornell; his brother Ralph M. Cornell Jr.; and his wife Margaret Cornell. He is survived by: his daughters, Margaret Webster Griner, Elizabeth Lefferts Betts and Barbara Ann Cornell (Dane Scott); his grandchildren, Joseph John Griner II, James Jason Griner (Erin McCormack), Jennifer Jessica Griner (Michael Bencivengo), Rebecca Eileen Miller (Scott), Rachel Buchi (David), Alicia Backman (Rich), Katherine Scott Cornell and William Howard Scott Cornell; and his great grandchildren, Jonathon, Kayla Griner, Nicholas, Hayden, Ethan Bencivengo, Noah, Bruce, Natalie Miller, Mackenzie, Carson and Hazel Backman.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Howard's name to the Masonic Charity Foundation, 902 Jacksonville Rd, Burlington, NJ 08016.
