He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Janis of Detroit, MI. He is survived by: his children, Keith G. of Foothill Ranch, CA, Diane J. Thompson of Cary, NC and Alan M. of Chapel Hill, NC. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity's ReStore, The Goodwill Store or The United War Veterans of America.
