He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Venito and Angela "Julia" Bontempo; and his stepfather Lawrence Bontempo. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Agnes Venito; his children, Mary Angela Lombardo and Joseph James II of Boonton; his grandchildren, Salvatore Joseph Lombardo and Gina Marie Lombardo of Boonton; and his sisters, Theresa Whritenour and Virginia Dolce of Boonton.
