He was predeceased by: his parents, John Retano and Adeline Retano; and his brother-in-law Joseph Hartmann. He is survived by: his sister Joan Hartmann; his wife Vivien; his children, Angela Maita Anderson of Montville, NJ and Jonathan Retano of East Norriton, PA.; his grandchildren, Jake and Vivien; and his children-in-law, Douglas Anderson and Melissa Retano.
A funeral service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dangler Lewis & Carey Funeral Home (312 W Main St, Boonton, NJ 07005). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (910 Birch St, Boonton, NJ 07005).
