He was predeceased by: his wife Joan O'Dowd (Burkowski); and his siblings, Rita, Bobby, George and Marty.

He is survived by: his children, Jeanette J. Lotko of Boonton, NJ, Carolyn Monga (Joseph) of Rockaway Twp, Maureen O'Dowd of Parsippany, NJ. and Edward K. O'Dowd (Joan) of Parsippany, NJ.; his grandchildren, Brian J. Monga (Stefanny) of Manhattan, NY, Kaylee White (Patrick) of Randolph, NJ and Danielle Lotko of Boonton, NJ; his sister Lois Hubbard (Fordyce); and his sister-in-law Clare O'Dowd of San Diego, CA..

Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Salvation Army or to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation by way of inmemof.org.
