He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Apgar and Mary Apgar; his wife Virginia Russ Apgar; his son Freddy; and his brothers, Frank, Keith and Greg.

He is survived by: his children, Donald Apgar and Dawn Apgar (Eamon Connaughton); and his siblings, Janice, Terry, Sherry, Richard, Dennis and Dwayne. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
