She was predeceased by: her siblings, Madeline Sharkey, Mildred O'Brien (Walter) and Clifford Sharkey. She is survived by: her spouse Daniel F. O'Connell Jr; her sister Joan Carville (Jerry); and her grandchildren, Caroline, Brian, Millie Hurley, Daniel Mellin, Emily Mellin, Patricia, Danny, Charlie, Tommy O'Connell, Vera and Grandma. She is also survived by her husband and in her lifelong gratitude for her "four healthy children and nine healthy grandchildren." Vera was loved by her two son in laws, her daughter in law and her many nieces and nephews.
