He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Liza Volpe; his child Madison Volpe; his siblings, Sharon Doherty, Joseph Banaghan, Michael Mullen, Christopher Mullen, Brittany Mullen, Sarah Mullen and Jessica Mullen; his parents, Joseph Banaghan and Rosemarie McGovern; and his stepparents, Jean Banaghan, Jessie Mullen and William Mullen. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
