With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorance Hillyerd Sr. (Blairstown, New Jersey), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 20, 2024 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Britten Hillyerd and Lulu Godrey; his wife Marleane; his daughter Anna "Annie" Fenstermaker; and his siblings, Pearl, John, Edna, Maurise, Art and Harold.
He is survived by: Charlotte.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Newbaker Funeral Home (200 NJ-94, Blairstown, NJ 07825). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Knowlton Frame Cemetery (3 Knowlton Rd, Columbia, NJ 07832).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 in honor of Dorance's lifelong commitment to helping others.
