He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine McLeer; and his siblings, Gene McLeer and Jack McLeer. He is survived by: his children, Joseph W. McLeer, Jr. (Jennifer), Elizabeth DePierri (Anthony), William McLeer (Charlene) and John McLeer (Dorothea).
